The current RFID tags used in all Datacard print ribbons with Intelligent Supplies Technology, are entering their end-of-life. Datacard have already introduced new RFID technology in the print ribbons for the new SD series desktop printers, and will continue to roll out these new tags in all their other supply products. This means the current Datacard SP ribbons will be unavailable from October of this year, but with a simple firmware upgrade you will be able to use the new Datacard SD print ribbons in your Datacard SP series desktop printer.
